He was predeceased by: his parent Burle Thorne; and his siblings, Robina Sears, Alverta Jefferies (late Cecil), George, Ottie, Emery and Arthur.

He is survived by: his parent Treva Thorne (Mallery); his wife Ena (Colpitts); his sons, Barry (Kathy), Philip (Shelley) and Brent (Stephanie); and his grandchildren, Kristin Wilson (Allison), Brennan Thorne (Andrea), Ryan Thorne (Krista), Tammy Lynn McFarlane (Dan), Jason Thorne (Alyssa) and Jeremy Thorne (Natalie). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory of Don to the Kinnear Settlement Cemetery, Friends of the Moncton Hospital or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
