He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Bransfield (Price); his parents, William Bransfield and Lillian Bransfield (Carroll); and his siblings, William, Helen, Tom and Steven.

He is survived by: his children, Cathy Smallwood (Steve), Doreen Crilley (Gord) and Michael Bransfield; and his grandchildren, Nakita, Catherine (Jonathan), Christopher, Grant, Robert, Danielle and Nicholas. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
