He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Thornton and Joyce Thornton (Christie); his wife Lynn Thornton; his brothers, Donald and Brian Thornton; and his brothers-in-law, George Novak and Daniel MacFarlane.
He is survived by: his children, Amy Whittaker (Kirk) and Richard Thornton; his grandchildren, Matthew Burgoyne and Autumn Whittaker; his sister Judy Thornton; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Thornton, Marjorie Novak, Lynn MacFarlane, Stephen MacFarlane and Robert MacFarlane (Geri). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Flewelling Funeral Home (585 Otis Dr, Nackawic, NB E6G1H6).
