He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvine Rushton and Martha Rushton; his siblings, Reta, Stephen and Kenny "Buck"; and his nephew Perley.

He is survived by: his children, Jason Rushton (Emma), Mindy Rushton (James) and Brandon Rushton; his grandchildren, Eden, Asia and Holly; his siblings, Carl Rushton (Linda), Alice Tracey (Terry), Perry Rushton (Sandra) and Peggy LaKing (Barry); and his brother-in-law Gerald Weaver.
