He was predeceased by: his father Shawn Haanstra; and his grandparents, Nelly, Harri Schuttenbeld and Grampy Willam Haanstra of Minto. He is survived by: his mother Nancy Schuttenbeld; his brother Alex Haanstra; and his twin-sister Rachel Haanstra. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McAdam's Funeral Home (160 York St, Fredericton, NB E3B3N7). A reception was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the McAdam's Funeral Home's J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel (160 York St, Fredericton, NB E3B3N7).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carter's name made to the breakfast programs at Bliss Carman Middle School and FHS would be appreciated.
