He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Holt and Grace Holt (Murray); and his siblings, Gerald, Donald, Byron, John Holt and Carol Jacobs.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Holt (Albert); his children, Michael (Kathy) and Mary Lou Brown (Rodney); his grandsons, William and Alexander; and his sister Ruth McAllister. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
