He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling Vail and Lena Vail (Moss); his brother Dana Vail; his grandson Zackery Daigle; and his niece Trish Vail.

He is survived by: his daughter Crystal; his son-in-law David; his grandson Tyrese; his siblings, Wanda Vail, Wendall Vail, Garfield Vail (Sheila) and Randy Vail; and his former wife Lois Comeau. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
