He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell Best and Mae Best (Langin); his brother Garnet Best; his sister-in-law Lena; his sisters, Joyce Best and Ivy Best; and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Hoyt, Donna Belliveau (Hoyt) and Gail Hoyt.

He is survived by : his wife Glenna (Hoyt); his children, Elizabeth Wallace (Don), Reta-Ann Best (Glen), John Best (Willa), Peter Best (Tammy), Patty Best and Russ Best; his grandchildren, Meghan (Peter), Karrina (Kenneth), Matthew (Jessica), Jackson, Cameron (Becky), Alyssa (Dawson), Ethan (Ashley), Denver, Savannah, Colbie and Alivia; his siblings, William Best (Eleanor), Vaughna MacBeth (Richard) and Judy Best; and his siblings-in-law, Keith Hoyt, Tim Hoyt and Elaine Gauthier (Stephen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christian Community Church or the MEMS Breakfast Program.
