He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Matchett and Mary Clara Matchett (Daigle); and his siblings, Florence, Marie, Delima, Arnold, Howard and Ernie.
He is survived by: his wife Doreen Matchett (Barrieau); his children, Brenda LeBlanc (Sheldon) of Saint John, Tabatha Walker of Roanoke, Virginia and Burt Matchett of Miramichi; and his siblings, Joan LeBlanc (Blair) of Saint John, Joanne Bechard (Raymond) of Miramichi, Terry Arsenault (Joe) of Miramichi, Maryann Matchett (Jeanne) of Miramichi, Herbie Matchett (Sheila) of Ontario and Alton Matchett (Diane) of Miramichi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
