It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Lillian Whitney (Miramichi, New Brunswick), who passed away on June 1, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gertrude Lillian Whitney to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her husband Ernest Whitney of Losier Hall; her parents, Harry Ford and Margaret Ford (Allison); her son Harry Whitney; and her brothers, Henry Ford (Eugenia) and Hubert Ford.

She is survived by : her daughters, June Tozer (Brent) of Whitney, NB and Arlene Sherrard (Blake) of Sunny Corner, NB; her siblings, Annie Whitney (Edgar) of Riverview, NB and Harvey Ford (Rita) of Westville, NS; her grandchildren, Cara Gilmore (Matthew), Melissa Sisk (Brody) and Travis Sherrard; and her great grandchildren, Samuel, William, Gabriel, Brendan, Lillian and Hudson.

In Gertrude's memory, donations may be made to the St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church General Fund or to a memorial of one's choice.

“My sincerest sympathy to the Whitney and Ford family and their offspring on the passing of Gertrude. I was Gertrude's flower girl at her high school graduation in the early 40's and have kept in touch with her for all these years. Gertrude was a great keeper of the family history. She would write a long letter at Christmas and fill me in on the happenings in the family. It was always exciting for me to visit Gertrude and Ernie both when I was young and as I aged. RIP from Gail Minichiello”
