It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Mather of Miramichi, New Brunswick, who passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Richard is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Richard's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Mather and Dorothy "Sally" Mather (Craik); and his brother Lawrence Mather. He is survived by: his children, Ricky Mather (Pam) of Miramichi and Lyndsay Mather of Victoria, BC; the mother of his children Christine Villeneuve of Miramichi; and his siblings, Karen Holton of Moncton and Strang Mather (Fema) of Miramichi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Northumberland Funeral Home (102 Pleasant St, Miramichi, NB E1V1X7).
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a memorial of one's choice.
