He was predeceased by: his parents, Talapady Ramanna Rai and Adhur Guthu Devika Rai. He is survived by: his wife Jayashree Vasanth Rai of Miramichi; his daughters, Smitha Bauckhage (Christoph) of Switzerland and Shwetha Rai (Matthew Williams) of Virginia; and his grandchildren, Nina Bauckhage, Anna Bauckhage, Leyna Bauckhage, Kalyan Williams and Navya Williams. He is also survived by his loving brother and brother-in-laws and eight sisters in India; as well as several nieces, nephews.
