He was predeceased by : his parents, Colin Wood and Laura Wood; and his siblings, Julienne Guitard (Conrad), Roderick and Raymond (Helena).

He is survived by : his wife Jeanne Wood of Moncton; his stepchildren, Paul Allain of Moncton and Denise Owens (Jim) of California; his siblings, Lawrence Wood (Marguerite) of Dalhousie and Thérèse McIntyre (late Marc) of Charlo; his siblings-in-law, Helena and Conrad; his grandchildren, Julia, Daniel, Lauren, Hannah and Autumn; and his close friend Leonard Babin (Ben). He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews; numerous friends.

Sr. cécile LeBlanc wrote a sympathy message

“Dear jeanne and family, our dear don left us so suddenly. May he now rejoice eternally in the presence of our good lord and all the communion of saints. For this i pray. Don was such a joy to listen to and be with. My last visit was a joyful one. Dear jeanne, receive god's gratefulness for caring so well for don to the very end and my sincere condolences. So sorry we cannot be together during the social distancing, i pray it will be short lived. Love, sr cécile”
