He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Edmonds and Lillian Margaret Edmonds (Pierce); his wife Retta (Leard); his brother Albert; his son David; and his daughter-in-law Karen (Campbell).

He is survived by: his son Cyril (Pat); his grandchildren, Mark, Colleen (Ryan) and Jennifer (Robert); his great grandchildren, Madeleine and Daniel; and his close friend Gladys Hogg.
