He was predeceased by: his parents, Suejyu Watanabe and Misa Watanabe. He is survived by: his wife Marie; his children, Akio, Misa (James), Koji (Alys) and Toshiko (Licio); and his grandchildren, Evan, Avery, Lyriel, Cadence, Alessio and Amelia.

Donations in Fred's memory made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.
