He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Crandlemire and Nellie Crandlemire (McCullogh); his son Kyle Crandlemire; his stepdaughter Shawnda Wilson; his brother Jack Crandlemire (late Judy); and his nieces, Kathy Anderson and Serena Cormier.

He is survived by: his significant other Judy Crandlemire (Wilbur); his stepchildren, Gary Wilson (Jennifer George) and Michelle Hunsley (Paul) of Oakville; his grandchildren, Cameron Hunsley (Jess), Taylor Hunsley, Rayne Wilson-Hutchinson (Jack), Benjamin and Ryan George; and his sisters, Myrna Anderson (Andy) of Thunder Bay and Jill Andow (Dennis) of Kelowna, B. C.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He struggled in the past few years with Alzheimer's but that did not stop him from holding the doors open for others, offering to give up his seat or opening the car door.
