He was predeceased by: his parents, Germain Thibodeau and Marguerite Thibodeau (Babineau); and his niece Emma Robichaud. He is survived by: his wife Monique Thibodeau (Babineau) of Richibouctou; his daughter Nadia Thibodeau; and his siblings, Simone Robichaud (Guy), Diane Vautour (Yvon), Village, Omer Thibodeau (Village) of Richibouctou, Alban Thibodeau (Noella) of Pirogue, Elzear Thibodeau (Joanne) of Bouctouche and Delphin Thibodeau (Village) of Richibouctou. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in Gilles's memory may be made to the Stella Maris Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
