He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Bout and Audrey Bout-Korevaar. He is survived by: his stepdaughter Paule Pepin; his child Anouk Roy (Rémi Comeau) of Moncton; and his brother Marika.

“I was saddened to hear of the passing of John. I knew him for over ten years and had many interesting conversations with him. Whenever I called John and asked if I could come to visit later on in the day he would always say, 'Sure. Come over now if you want to' I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his wife and family. He was a very special man and will be greatly missed”
