It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John MacNeil in Moncton, New Brunswick, born in Sydney River, Nova Scotia, who passed away on January 22, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brothers, Robert and Roy; and his parents, Julia MacNeil (Robertson) and Neil MacNeil. He is survived by: his daughters, Gordanna and Lee; his wife Margaret (Larose); his children, Cindy MacNeil (John Sampson) and Mark MacNeil (Gordana Mitrovic); his granddaughters, Sarah (Jeremy Mallais), Courtney Berthelot and Lee MacNeil (Ioannis Gauthier); his great grandchildren, Zayn and Roen Mallais; and his siblings, Leon MacNeil, Leona Habib and Gordon MacNeil.

In lieu of flowers, John's charity of choice for many, many years was Unicef.
