He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gordon and Muriel Mawhinney; and his siblings, Jennifer Mawhinney March and Joel Mawhinney. He is survived by: his wife Janie Jordan Mawhinney; his daughter Mary Reid (Nicholas) of Lower Coverdale; his granddaughter Sarah; his son Jonathan Mawhinney of Riverview; his grandson Myles; his great grandchild Maria Mawhinney (Brian Daniels) of Beersville; his grandson Adin; his siblings, Jane Franklin (Nicholas) of Halifax and Gordon Mawhinney (Cynthia) of Rothesay; and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Mawhinney of Riverview and Robert Jordan (Doris) of St Phillips. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
