He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilberforce Smith and Daisy Smith (Allen); and his siblings, Margaret Pitcher (Lorin), Wilfred Smith (Eileen), Doris Fenton (Charles), Evelyn Jonah (Leon) and Grace Weldon (Jack).

He is survived by: his sons, Steven (Marina) and Joe (Debbie); his grandsons, Jesse and Logan; and his pet Cassie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
