He was predeceased by: his wife Rhoda Matthews; his parents, Wilmore (Jean Matthews) and Oliver (Rhoda); and his siblings, Alma, Eugenia, Rodney and Rollie.
He is survived by: his sister Linda Treadwell (Bill); his siblings-in-law, Marguerite Killam, Violet Matthews and Gillis Killam (Lorna); his children, Brian Matthews (Denise), Rick Matthews (Jackie), Carol Ann Matthews, Kimberly "Kim" Moreside (Myles), Rhonda Langelaan (Paul) and James "Jim" Matthews (Claire); his grandchildren, Jennifer, Vanessa, Lynn, Stephanie, Nancy, Rachelle, Gregory, Joanna, Kathryn, Zachary and Sarah; and his great grandchildren, Cody, Jesse, Raven, Micheal, Emily, Liam, MacGreger, Hezekiah, Saige, Timothy, Gabriel and Miguel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Oliver's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
