He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Blakney and Nellie Blakney (Lutes); his wife Sharon (Agnew); his daughter Kelli Blakney; and his brothers, Samuel, Tom and Guy.
He is survived by: his son Greg Blakney of Singapore; his grandchildren, Aidan, Liam, Noah of Singapore and Megan (Grand Falls); his great grandchildren, Samuel and Nicolas; and his siblings, Dan Blakney, Russell Blakney and Nancy Johnson.
