Terry Nelson Steeves Obituary

Terry "Snib" Steeves of Moncton passed away on August 9th, 2025 at the Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Moncton on December 6th, 1962 the son of the late Robert Nelson Steeves and Doris (Bennett) Steeves of Albert Mines.

Terry joined the Militia when he was young and enjoyed reading the history books of the wars and how things happened in the past. He worked at several jobs over the years including working on the fishing boats in Alma, worked for NB Power for a time and last worked with Ensemble which is set up to Reduce harm; a nonjudgmental approach that recognizes drug use exists and so attempts to minimize the harms and risks associated with drug use rooted in dignity, respect, and social well-being, harm reduction offers practical solutions such as safe consumption sites, needle exchange programs, and access to treatment and support services. Terry had a soft spot for people who were, struggling and wanted to help out. Although he had a tough exterior, those he loved saw his soft side and he was the kindest, and soft hearted man you would ever want to meet. His mother, daughters, sisters and grandson were the special people in his life that he was always there for. He always had his family and friends back when needed. Although he had some rough times if they needed him he was there. He loved riding his Harley Davidson. He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his dog peanut who he is now reunited with and his dog Chloe, they were a big part of his family. Snib travelled in different groups and he supported a lot of his friends, he was known for his no nonsense reputation but also his big, heart. Snib did things his way and the chorus of this song says it all -My Way Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew But through it all, when there was doubt I ate it up and spit it out I faced it all, and I stood tall And did it my way. He will be deeply missed by his mom, Doris Steeves of Albert Mines; soulmate, Holly Talbot of Moncton; daughters Caitlin Steeves of Moncton, Vanessa Steeves of Hillsborough, Eden Talbot of Moncton and step daughter, Eva Talbot of Moncton; his treasured grandson, C Jay Harding; sisters, Joanne Frazee (Steven) of Albert Mines, Nancy LeBlanc (Craig) of Riverview and sister-in-law, Cheryl (Steeves) Layton of Albert Mines. He will also be missed by the mother of Caitlin and Vanessa, Liane Steeves; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and, cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Bob Steeves, daughter, Rachel Steeves and brother Tim Steeves. There will be a funeral service at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, August 15th, 2025 at 2:00pm with Pastor Quincy Arbeau officiating. There will be a time of visitation at the funeral home from 1-2pm (an hour prior to the service). Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lower Cape, NB where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved daughter, Rachel.
