He was predeceased by : his parents, Arrend Vanderknaap and Corneilla Vanderknaap (Schipper); his daughter Kay; and his siblings, Annie, Corrie, Greta, Bill and Cass.

He is survived by : his wife Avus Vanderknaap (Craig) of Hanwell, NB; his children, Arend Vanderknaap (Ans), Dan and Heather Vanderknaap (Bill) of Hanwell, NB; his grandchildren, Erik-Jan Vanderknaap, Marco, Justin Morgan (Suzie) of Hainesville, NB and Michael Morgan of Fredericton, NB; his great grandchildren, Tyler, Aiden Morgan of Hainesville, NB and Emma; and his sister Rikki.
