He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Francis and Florence Purdue (Ellison); and his siblings, Kenneth Purdue, Pauline Baltus and Ronald Purdue.

He is survived by: his wife Frances Evelyn Purdue (Short); his children, Robert Purdue (Angela), Greg Purdue (Diana), Susan Smissaert and David Purdue (Trisha Boulanger); and his grandchildren, Jackie, Allyson, Laura, Jennifer, Mike, Emily, Maggie, Elizabeth, Michael, Julie, Sarah and Joseph. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericion SPCA, Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor's choice.
