He was predeceased by: his former wife Claudette; his brother Robert; his siblings-in-law, Wanda and Raymond; and his parents, Andy and Mary.

He is survived by: his wife Pauline; his sister Marilyn; and his children, Sonja McLaughlin (George), Karl (Danielle), Hans and Jon (Bonnie). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family would request a donation in his memory to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he was a member his entire life.
