He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Berton McLean (Frances Kephart) and Vincent McCarthy (Dorothy Dolan); his aunts and uncles, Dean Smith, Danny McLean, John Soroka, Lawrence Schneider, Ed Brown, Susan McLean, Lilly McLean and Sherra-Lee McLean; and his nephew Felix Carbonneau.

He is survived by: his parents, Peter and Daphne McCarthy; his sisters, Shannon (Erin Rose Clark) and Sheelah (Justin Carbonneau); his nephew Frédéric Carbonneau; and his partner Miranda Berube and her children, Migel and Purity. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
