He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Mercer and Daisy Mercer; his wife Marie Mercer; his grandson Daniel; and his siblings, Joan MacDougall and Roy Mercer.
He is survived by : his children, Sylvia Bannock (Oleg), Marianne Cook (David), Mark Mercer (Mary), Stephen Mercer (Lex) and John Mercer (Debra); and his grandchildren, Shannon, Ryan, Brandon, Jessica, Jeremy, Dominique, Brian, Joseph, Heather, Amber and Tyler. He is also survived by several great grandchildren and extended family.
