She was predeceased by: her husband Norman Dow Barton; her parents, Lesley Eldon and Celia Edna Wood McGaghey (Brown); her siblings, Earl McGaghey, Della Wood (Clarence) (McGaghey), Kenneth McGaghey, Clarence Wood (Della), Marguerite (Wood), Elliott (Ronald), Ansel Wood (Dorothy), Mary Ellen (Wood), Hutchins (Carey) and Beatrice May Wood; her children, Irvin Wood (Laura), Nellie (Wood), Edmanson (William), Thelma (McGaghey) and McKenelley (Russell); her brother John Barton (Brenda); and her sister-in-law Doris Barton.
She is survived by: her son Douglas (Lucinda); her granddaughter Megan (Eric Arbeau); her great grandchildren, Levi, Kinsley, Cyril (Gwenda) and Allen (Joanne); her grandson Mason Thibodeau; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Ethan; her grandson Shane Thibodeau (Jessica Poirier); her great grandchild Coral (Peter Barton); her daughter Mary Keith; and her nieces, Irene Bodechon (Elliott) and Apryl-Dawn Barton Lister (Reg).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hogg Funeral Home (10 King St, Minto, NB E4B3N5). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Newcastle Creek United Baptist Church (7 Wharf Rd, Newcastle Creek, NB E4B2J7).
Donations in memory of Iona may be made to the Newcastle Creek Baptist Cemetery (e-transfer [email protected]) or at the funeral home, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
