He was predeceased by : his parents, John Stephen Griffiths and Bella Mae Griffiths (Whitenect); his brother-in-law Bill Miller; his siblings, Walter (Laura), Harry Griffiths (Marina) and Jean Snyder (Warren); his siblings-in-law, Honie Miller, Lois Cummings, Morty, Carlie Cummings, Ora Campbell and Richard Whalen; his mother-in-law Clara Cummings; and his niece Donna Vallis (Snyder).

He is survived by : his wife Della; his children, Billy Griffiths of Norton and Tammy Guitard of Norton; his grandchildren, Jillian Guitard of Saint John and Alex Guitard of Norton; his son-in-law Daniel Guitard of Saint John; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Campbell, Louise Cummings (Chris), Mary Ellen Snyder (Brian), Betty Whalen, Phil Cummings (Linda) and Jack Cummings.

Donations in memory of Claude can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Sussex Fish and Wildlife Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
