She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Reed and Marjorie Reed (Currie); her sister Martha; and her nephew Sammy Jesson. She is survived by: her husband Phil Mackinnon; her children, Bill MacKinnon, Harvie Mackinnon, Bernice Mackinnon and Sharon Hindy (Marty); her siblings, Patricia, Jess (Judy) and Sammy Reed; her sister-in-law Carmela McLeod; her grandchildren, Brandon Lewis, Courtney Smith (Chris), Dakota Smith, Kayla Mackinnon (Isaiah), Connor Mackinnon, Amber Mackinnon (Eric), Crystal Hindy, Alysha Hindy (Lucas), Amanda Hindy (Matthew) and Dawson; Jennifer. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
