He was predeceased by : his parents, George Patterson and Loretta Patterson (Purcell); and his siblings, Hazel, Douglas, Mary (Pat), Alice, Bertram, Margaret, Robert and Kathleen.

He is survived by : his wife Doris Patterson (McLean); his children, Debra Patterson of Oromocto, NB, Doug Patterson (Marie-Claire) of Ontario, Carol (Patterson), Oram (Ronnie) of Hoyt, NB, Linda Patterson (Scott Sansom) of Dartmouth, NS and Mark Patterson (Tobi) of Ontario; his grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Jessica, Kari-Ann, Michael, Amanda, Chrissy, Sarah, Jennifer, Nakita, Cora and Gina; and his great grandchildren, Blake, Bryson, Hayden, Mikaella, Nicholas, Emma, Meredith, Brandon and Alexis. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
