He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Astles and Viola Astles (Campbell); his wife Priscilla "Pat" Astles (Chamberlain); his daughter Joyce Astles; his grandson Thomas McDonald (Tibbett); and his siblings, Douglas and Dora (Eddy).
He is survived by: his children, Andrew Astles (Shirley) of Geary, Debra McDonald (Kelvin) of Deseronto, ON, Darlene Valentiate (Brian) of Rusagonis and Melody Carr (Daniel) of Geary; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Astles of Ottawa, ON.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
