He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tays and Edna Tays (Long); his wife Mary Tays (Mercer) of Passekeag, NB; his son Carl; his granddaughter Aimee MacKay; his great grandchild Jessica Miller; his granddaughter-in-law Amanda Mercer; and his siblings, Stewart, Ralph and June Hutchings.
He is survived by: his children, Muriel (Myles) of Berwick, NB, Linda (Phillip) of Bloomfield, NB, Shelley (Raymond) of Sussex Corner, NB, Arnold (Hannah) of Penobsquis, NB, Ronald of Passekeag, NB and Joseph (Jean) of Passekeag, NB; and his siblings, Jack Tays (Carol), Clifford Tays, Paul Tays and Helen Rattray. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; forty four great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren.
