He was predeceased by : his parents, Ervine Johnston and Reta Johnston (DeMerchant); his wife Helene; his siblings, Donnie McCarty, Sheila Johnston and Jeannie McGilligan; and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Diane.
He is survived by : his children, Allan Johnston (Laurie), David Johnston (Barb) and Traci Tompkins (Dale); his grandchildren, Josh, Kristen, Chris, Zachary, Nathan, Kyle, Joel, Maddison and Trey; his great grandchildren, Adrianna, Rylan, Noah, Scarlett, Liam and Kyleigh; and his siblings, Viola Ferguson, Jimmy Johnston (Pat), Carl Johnston (Noella), Richard Johnston (Marilyn), Mildred Jalbert (Clark), Anita Finnamore (Eugene), Randy Johnston, Lois Watson (Albert), Gerald Johnston (Cindy), Brian Johnston (Beverly), Douglas Johnston (Mayda) and Louis Johnston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
