He was predeceased by: his parents, Ansel DeWitt and Ruth DeWitt (Stevenson); and his siblings, Margaret Greenlaw, Thomas and Eugene DeWitt.

He is survived by: his wife Harriet DeWitt (MacPhail); his children, Dwan Ruth DeWitt (Joe Russell) of Grand Falls, NB and Chad Ansel DeWitt (Jessica Parish) of Edmonton, AB; his grandchildren, Cole McGuire, Cody McGuire, Cyrus McGuire and Jessica DeWitt; his great grandchildren, Autumn, Ocean and Blakeley; and his siblings, Linda Morrissey (John) of Aroostook, NB, Lila DeWitt of Calgary, AB, Douglas DeWitt (Elaine) of Sussex, NB, Malcolm DeWitt of Tacoma, WA and Blaine DeWitt of Perth-Andover, NB. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
