He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Jacob and Enna Jacob (Melanson); and his siblings, Hilaire, Eric, Francis and Marcella Jacob (Garnet Campbell).

He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth Smith; his stepson Tyler Smith Johnston; his grandchildren, Kyla, Austin and Oakley Smith; his siblings, Eudore (Nicole Cormier), Valois (late Penny), Valery (Glenda) and Rosella Bourque (late Robert); and his sisters-in-law, Noella Jacob, Lucie Jacob and Kartini Jacob. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
