He was predeceased by : his parents, Ronald Allen and Olive Allen (Goodwin); his brother-in-law Kevin Patterson; his nephew Keith Allen; and his stepsons, Leslie and Bruce Brownell.

He is survived by : his son Graham (Anne Lawrence) of Amherst, NS; the mother of his children Lydia Hemm; his grandchildren, Wesley (Sarah) and Dana; his great grandchildren, Wyatt and Rosalia; his siblings, Gary (Jean), Austin (Dianne), Baie Verte, Bryan (Helen), Marjorie Patterson, Point of Bute, Dorothy Kean (Chris) and Cape Tormentine; his close friend Evalena Tower; and his extended family, Hazel Berry, Colleen Wheaton, Johnny Brownell, Jeannie Brownell and Stanley Brownell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
