He was predeceased by: his parents, Norm Whitney and Karen Whitney (Jensen). He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Whitney (Jardine); his stepchildren, Rachael (Mike), Andrew and Addy; his grandchildren, Bryson, Leila and Avery; his sisters, Rose (Leonard), Tanya (Ross) and Lyra (Ben); and his pet Barky. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, Allan wished for donations to be made directly to individuals or families in need.
