He was predeceased by : his parents, Sterling Ellis and Joyce Ellis (Morrel); his sister-in-law Janet Ellis; and his parents-in-law, Levi and Josephine Marsh.

He is survived by : his common-law partner Tabetha Myles; his children, Kathy Rumson (Mike), Cherie DeMerchant (Brent) and Derryk Ellis (Tricia); the mother of his children Mona Ellis; his siblings, Wayne Ellis (Diane), Eric Ellis and Deanna Ellis; his grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Jessica, Alyssa, Ryan, Blair, Drake and Mackenzie; his great grandchildren, Layne, Kinley-Jo, Hannah, Annamarie and Leo; his nieces, Karen, Kristin, Erica and Robyn; his nephew Keith; his siblings-in-law, Bren Marsh (Grace) and Penny Marsh (Harry); his pet KeyKey; and also, Kenny Drew and Sabrina Myles.
