She was predeceased by : her parents, George Saunders and Elizabeth Saunders; and her husband Edward Leonard Gilbert. She is survived by : her sons, Steve Gilbert (Cheryl Penney) and Alan Gilbert; her siblings, George Saunders and Amy Denyer; and her grandchildren, Caleb, Nate, Victoria Gilbert, Matthew and Jade Abbott. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue League, or animal related charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by family.
