She was predeceased by: her husband John Sweet; and her brothers-in-law, Douglas Murray and James Rolfe. She is survived by: her children, Stacey Sweet (Bill McKinney) and Troy Sweet (Sabrina); her grandchildren, Casey and Oliver Sweet; her siblings, Kathleen Rolfe, Marjorie Murray, Florence Ellis (Ronald), Margaret Scott (Michael), John Raynes (Barb), Benjamin Raynes, Dennis "Bright" Raynes (Sherry), Donald "Buck" Raynes (Holly) and Ronald Raynes; Joan. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Donations in memory of Joan may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Saint John SPCA.
