She was predeceased by: her husband John "Jack" Hovey of Quispamsis; her parents, Stanford Saunders and Frances Saunders (Burger) of Gondola Point; her siblings, Hugh Saunders and Nancy Thorpe (Jackie); and her nephew Christopher Saunders.

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan McDermott (Mark) of Saint John, Debbie Peacock of Pennfield and Heather Hovey (Thomas Storring) of Dartmouth, NS; her sister Shirley Jones (Doug); her grandchildren, Jessica Chappel (Craig), Sarah McDermott (Mackenzie Walsh) and David Storring; her great grandchildren, Connor and Norah Chappel; her sister-in-law Trish Saunders; and her nephew Terry Thorpe (Angela).
