He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter and Essie Mitchell (Walsh); his children, Karen and Gerald; and his siblings, Grace, Kenneth, Douglas and Lloyd.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Mitchell (Campbell); his sons, Wayne Mitchell (Barbara) of Galloway, Dale Mitchell (Maria) of Westford, MA, Christopher Mitchell (Cheryl) of Nashua, NH and Scott Mitchell (Nikki) of Manchester, NH; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kyla and Elijah; his friend Amanda; his siblings, Faye Mitton (John) of Lakeville, Laveran Powers (Brian) of Riverview, Wilbert Mitchell (Miriam) and Terry Mitchell (Carolyn); and his sister-in-law Rita Mitchell of Bryants Corner, NB.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
