He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanley Shaffer and Janey Shaffer (Steeves); his wife Hilda; and his siblings, Jean Black, Phyllis Shaffer and Emery Shaffer.
He is survived by : his daughters, Brenda Haley (John Laurence) of Moncton, Lynn Wilson (Eric) of Hillsborough and Alisa Steeves (Kevin Beck) of Cape Station; and his brother Hillyard Shaffer (Freda) of Halifax. He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great great- grandchild.
