He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Coates and Velma Coates (Geddes); his daughters, Beverley Crossman and Diane Lee; his son-in-law Rob MacLeod; his siblings, Ron Coates and Elva Trew; and his pets, Prince, Queen and Bill.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Coates; his children, Nancy Gustavsson (Eric) of Kelowna, BC and Alan (Lisa) of Moncton; his grandchildren, Melissa Nicholson (John), Danika Crossman (Chris) and Em Coates; his great grandchildren, Thomas, Patrick and Leslie; and his siblings, John (Shirley) of Moncton, Laurence (Linda) of Coverdale and Ruth Hennessey (George) of Edmonton, AB. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre (214 Pine Glen Rd, Riverview, NB E1B1V6).
