He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus DeMerchant and Audrey DeMerchant (Boone); his former wife Mary DeMerchant (Walker); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Bell, David Boone, Clarence Godsoe and Graydon Lunn.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda DeMerchant (Lunn); his sisters, Sharon Godsoe of Rowena, NB, Mary Jean Boone of Rowena, NB, Nancy Swazey (Peter) of Rowena, NB, Anna Finnamore (Dale) of Rowena, NB and Cheryl Violette (Dan) of Perth-Andover, NB; his stepchildren, Diane Dube (Claude) of Grafton, NB, Gail Pacious (Michael) of Bridgewater, MA, Mark Murchison (Harriet) of Caribou, ME and Lisa Jones (Bill) of Caribou, ME; and his sister-in-law Donna Hitchcock. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Brunswick Funeral Home (105 F. Tribe Rd, Perth-Andover, NB E7H3S3). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
