He was predeceased by: his parents, Christel Knopp and Hermann Zerb; and his aunt Amalie. He is survived by: his stepfather Gerhard Henklemann; his wife Hannelore Zerb (Fassauer); his children, Michael Holger (Janice) and Alexandra (Kari); his grandchildren, Bianca, Gabrièle and Erich; and his brother Wilfred (Margot). He is also survived by his three great-granddaughters.
