She was predeceased by: her parents, Vera Jamha and Sam Jamha; her husband Al Shawley; her brothers, Robert and Roy; her nephews, Allan, Doug, Darrell and Glenn; her former husband Jim Cane; and her granddaughter Caitlin Hoffart.
She is survived by: her children, Judith Cane (Ian Fisher) and David Cane (Lynanne); her stepdaughters, Jan (Steve Hoffart) and Karen Cumming; her sister-in-law Alice Jamha; her grandchildren, Matt Cane (Samantha), Taylor Cane, Sam Fisher (Izzy), Duff Bailey, Morgan Bailey, Jared O'Donnell (Joanne) and Brenden Johnstone (Paul); and her great grandchildren, Fiona, Ainsley, Remi and Nora.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mariam's memory may be made to the Sackville Hospital Foundation, Drew-Tantramar Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
